Check History
Every monitor generates a history of check results. You can drill into individual checks to diagnose issues and understand your service's behavior over time.
Viewing check history
- Go to Monitors and click on a monitor.
- Scroll to the Check History section.
- Each row shows a single check with its status, response time, and timestamp.
Check statuses
| Status | Icon | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Up | Green | The check succeeded. Service is responding normally. |
| Down | Red | The check failed. Service did not respond. |
| Degraded | Yellow | The check succeeded but exceeded the target response time. |
Check details
Click any check in the history to see its full details:
| Detail | Description |
|---|---|
| Response time | How long the check took (ms). |
| Status code | HTTP status code returned (HTTP/HTTPS monitors). |
| Error code | Canonical error identifier for failed checks. |
| Error message | Human-readable description of what went wrong. |
| Response body | Full HTTP response body captured on failed checks (4xx/5xx). |
| Timestamp | When the check was performed (UTC). |
Response body capture
For HTTP monitors, the full response body is captured when a check fails with a 4xx or 5xx status code. This helps you debug what your server returned during the outage.
Response bodies are stored as plain text or base64-encoded bytes, depending on the content type.
Filtering
Use the filters above the check history to narrow down results:
| Filter | Options |
|---|---|
| Status | All, Up, Down, Degraded |
| Date range | Today, Last 7 days, Last 30 days, Custom |
Pagination
Check history is paginated. Use the navigation at the bottom to move through pages. Each page shows up to 20 checks.
Highlighting a specific check
When navigating from an incident or notification link, a specific check can be highlighted in the history. The highlighted check is expanded and scrolled into view automatically.
