FAQ & Troubleshooting

Monitors

My monitor shows "Down" but my site is working

Check the monitor's configuration:

  • URL — make sure it includes the correct protocol (https:// vs http://).
  • Timeout — your server might be responding but slower than the configured timeout. Increase it.
  • Target response time — if your site is slow, it may be flagged as "Degraded", not "Down".

Also verify from the Check History what response the monitor is actually receiving.

My monitor isn't creating incidents

Two things to check:

  1. Confirmation threshold — incidents are only created after the configured number of consecutive failures (default: 2). Increase the threshold if you want fewer false alarms, or decrease it for faster alerts.
  2. Plan limit — auto incident detection is available on Starter and above. Free plans can only create manual incidents.

How do I monitor a site behind a firewall?

Use the Ping monitor type for basic reachability, or TCP to check a specific port. If you need HTTP-level monitoring, your endpoint must be publicly accessible.

Integrations

My webhook test fails

  • Verify the webhook URL is correct and reachable from the internet.
  • If using a signing secret, make sure it matches on both sides.
  • Check that your endpoint accepts POST requests and returns a 2xx status.

Slack notifications not arriving

  • Confirm the Incoming Webhook URL is still active in your Slack app settings.
  • Make sure the integration is enabled and at least one event type is toggled on.
  • If you see invalid_blocks errors, regenerate the webhook URL in Slack and update it in your integration.

Discord notifications not appearing

  • Check that the webhook URL is valid and the bot has permission to post in the channel.
  • Verify the integration is enabled with at least one event type active.

Status pages

Custom domain verification fails

  • DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to propagate. Wait and retry.
  • Double-check the TXT record name and value match exactly what's shown in the designer.
  • Use a DNS lookup tool to verify the record is publicly visible.

My status page shows old incidents

Incidents move to the history section after resolution. Make sure the incident is actually marked as Resolved in the dashboard. The status page updates in real-time once the incident status changes.

Can I hide specific components from the public page?

Yes. In the Components tab of the designer, toggle visibility off for any component. It remains in your dashboard but is hidden from the public view.

Billing

When does my plan downgrade take effect?

Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period. You keep your current features until then.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

Your workspace and all its data (monitors, incidents, status pages) are preserved after cancellation. Your plan reverts to Free and you retain access to everything within Free plan limits.

Can I switch from monthly to yearly billing?

Yes. Upgrade to a yearly plan from the Billing page. The change takes effect immediately and you'll be charged the prorated difference.

Account

I didn't receive the verification email

  • Check your spam/junk folder.
  • Wait 5 minutes and use the Resend option.
  • Make sure you entered the correct email address during signup.

I forgot my password

Use the Forgot Password link on the login page. You'll receive a reset email with a link valid for 1 hour.

Can I use both email and OAuth to log in?

Yes. If you signed up with email and later connect a Google, GitHub, or Apple account, you can use either method to log in to the same account.
